Antiracism Analysis Training (Online, April 29-May 1, 2021)

The foundational workshop for the Roots of Justice Antiracism Process.

About the Training

The goal of the training is to build a common understanding of racism and to work toward long-­term transformation of institutions in our community. The training is accessible to both individuals and teams that have a desire to dismantle racism within their institution or community.

This online antiracism analysis training is a 15 hour training that covers topics including:

  • An exploration of the history of racism and resistance to racism
  • Thinking systemically about communities
  • Racism's intersections with other forms of oppression
  • Colonialism
  • Defining racism
  • Race as a social construct
  • Racism as a systemic reality
  • White privilege
  • Internalization of racial oppression and superiority
  • Racial and cultural identity
  • Institutions and Institutional racism

Teaching methods include facilitator presentations, small and large group discussion, personal reflection exercises, case studies, video, and laughter.

Thursday, April 29 - 6:00-9:00 p.m. Eastern Time
Friday, April 30 - 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. ET (one hour for lunch)
Saturday, May 1 - 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. ET (one hour for lunch)

Please clear your schedule during these times. It is imperative that ALL participants participate in the entirety of the training

Requirements: Participants will need access to a computer with webcam in order to participate. Phones or tablets are not recommended.
